OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Fields, 83, were held Monday, Feb. 9 in the Methodist church at Oxford Junction, with Rev. Kenneth Harden officiating. Mrs. Hans H. Ahrendsen and Mrs. Otto Koranda sang and Mrs. Louis Vacek was organist.

Interment was in the Smithtown cemetery and pallbearers were Tom Murray, Melvin Stevenson, Elmer Jensen, Jay, Jerry and Don Mulvihill.

Mrs. Fields, who was Daisy Skinner before her marriage to Jesse Fields at Maquoketa Aug. 21, 1896, was born at Massillon Nov. 9, 1875, and died Friday afternoon, Feb. 6.

She lived her entire life in this community. Her home was on their farm northeast of town, but she had been cared for in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Leslie in Oxford Mills, during her last illness. Mr. Fields died Sept. 21, 1953.

Besides her daughter, Mrs. Leslie (Gladys) she is survived by a daughter, Goldie, at Woodward; six sons, Clyde of Des Moines, Clifford of Delmar, Jesse Jr., Levi, Dale and Meryl of Oxford Junction; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a brother, James of Massillon. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and a daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
