Funeral services were held for Mrs. Daisy Bizek, 77, of Oxford Junction on Thursday, October 2 at 10:30 at the Hayden Funeral Home, Oxford Junction. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Hamann of the United Methodist Church officiated at the services.
Mrs. Bizek died Monday morning, September 29 at the Cedar Rapids Care Center, where she had been a resident for two weeks. She was born on January 23, 1903 in Montgomery City, Missouri to Charles and Anna Butler Ross. She attended school there. In 1918 she was married to Grover T. Brutz in Jefferson City, Missouri. She moved to Cedar Rapids and worked for Wilson and Co. for many years. She married Fred Bizek in 1957. They owned and operated a tavern in Oxford Junction for several years. Following his death in 1979, and due to ill health, she has lived with her daughter in Cedar Rapids for several months.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Juanita) Brown of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons, two granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, preceding her in death was one daughter.
Pallbearers were Paul Zell, Carl Otte, Otto Koranda, Robert Barth, Ken Lorenzen and L. L. McCreight.
