Lester D. French, 82, passed away Sunday, November 23, 1980 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He was born on May 25, 1898 at Wyoming, Iowa, the son of William and Agnes Orr French.

Lester was married to Bernice Barber at Wyoming on April 28, 1923. They made their home on farms in the Wyoming community before retiring in Wyoming.

Lester was a member of the Wyoming Presbyterian Church where he had served as elder and trustee.

Surviving him are his wife, Bernice; one son, Ivan of Buffalo, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Royal (Eileen) Snyder of Wyoming, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one sister, Dorothy Marshall of Toronto, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one grandson, six sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, at the Wyoming Presbyterian Church with Student Pastor Don Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Wyoming Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gary French, Larry French, William N. French, Wayne Snyder, Don Atkinson, and Daryl Spivey.
