Harold A. Mead, 70, died Saturday, January 3, at his home in Center Junction. He was born in Center Junction April 8, 1910, the son of James and Mary Moncrief Mead.

He attended school in Center Junction. He entered the army, serving in Germany and Italy in 1942-1945. After marrying Esther Luke, he lived in Center Junction where he had a lightning rod business for many years.

Survivors include two brothers, Louis of Sumner and James (Joe) of Center Junction; and three sisters, Alcie Geary of Cedar Rapids, Mabel Otten of Scotch Grove and Mary O'Steen of Riverside, CA.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; three brothers and three sisters.

Services were held Thursday, Jan.8, at the Hayden Funeral Home in Wyoming. Burial was in Wyoming Cemtery. Rev. Kenneth Hamann officiated.

Pallbearers were Leonard Serbousek, Dean Mead, David Mead, David Norton, Phil Andrews and Louis Moran.
