Clara Jenkins, 82, Wyoming, died Saturday, March 27, 1982, at the Jones County Care Center.

Born June 8, 1899 at Elgate, Iowa near Maquoketa, she was the daughter of Robert and Susan Dimmer Bock. She was educated at Elgate.

Clara married Lyle Jenkins June 29, 1922. The couple lived in Wyoming where they owned a grocery store for many years.

After the death of her husband, she continued to operate the store for a couple of years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the UMC women.

Survivors include two sisters, Lucille McQuilkin of Swanton, Vt., Irene Bock of Scotch Grove; three half sisters, Mrs. Robert Novak, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Ethel Starnes, Walnut Creek, Calif., and Mrs. Agnes Campbell, Redondo Beach, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and three sisters.

Services were held Tuesday, March 30 at 11 a.m. at the Methodist church with burial at the Wyoming Cemetery. Rev. Gwynn Osuch officiated. The organist Virgnia Pace.

Pallbearers included Warren Etten, John Colony, Adra Lane, James Mattson, Clayton Hamilton and Merte Caraway.
