Everett P. Jurgensen, 68, died January 9, 1981 at Marshalltown.

He was born at Olin on November 25, 1912, the son of John and Lena Kreger Jurgensen.

After attending Olin school he drove trucks until entering the army on July 2, 1942. He served with the 371st Air Squadron in the Pacific during World War II and was discharged on September 9, 1945. Everett then worked as a truck driver in DeWitt and later in Monticello and Wyoming.

Since 1967 he has lived in the Soldiers Retirement homes in Iowa and South Dakota.

Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. Imogene Smeltzer, Lowden, and Mrs. Delores Eganhouse, Wyoming.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, at the Hayden Funeral Home in Wyoming with burial in Olin Cemetery. Rev. James A. Mattson officiated.

The flag presentation was made by Wyoming American Legion Post #259. Pallbearers were Russell Smeltzer, Greg Eganhouse, Dennis Smeltzer, Terry Rushford, Steve Ballou and Duane Jurgensen.
