Funeral service for Lewis A. Wright, 88, who died June 2 at the Monticello Senior Home, was held Wednesday, June 4, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist church in Olin. Rev. Fred Richardson was the officiating pastor, and burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Soloist was Miss Gayle Hartwig, and organist was Mrs. Greg VonBehren. Pallbearers were Alvin, Earl, Paul, Lawrence, Dallas, Arlo and Stanley Wright. Hayden Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lewis was born Jan. 7, 1882, at Morehead, KY, the son of Marshall and Vinie Jackson Wright.

On April 24, 1913, he married Ida Caudill at Morehead, where they lived for three years. They moved to Iowa 63 years ago, and have lived in the Olin area for the 50 years, first farming, and later operating a trucking business.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Ida who is a resident of the Monticello Senior Home, are one son, Lester, Olin; two daughters, Lydia Mae, Mrs. Dale Glick, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Pearl Barnhart, Wyoming; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three brothers, Charles and Rollie, Tipton, and Clayton, Bennett.

His parents, two brothers, an infant sister, a grandson and a great-granddaughter preceded him in death.
