Funeral services for Oliver W. Smith, were held at Goettsch Funeral home Saturday, Jan. 24. He died Wednesday, Jan. 21 at John McDonald hospital. Rev. Gideon I. Krein conducted the services and burial was in Oakwood cemetery.

He was born Aug. 21, 1903, the son of Albert and Louisa Rhatigan Smith. He spent his entire life in Monticello, and was employed by the Hoag Duster company. He married Leah Balsiger Apr. 2, 1946.

He is survived by his wife, and one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Kohl of Anamosa.

Pallbearers were Junior Fulwider, Dean Campbell, Lavern Fulwider, Robert Fulwider, George Postel and Sam Rhatigan.
