Fred C. Lasack, 83, of Oxford Junction died Saturday, Dec. 30, 1989 at the Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa.

He was born Nov. 26, 1906 at Oxford Junction, the son of Vit and Frances Benhart Lasack. He attended and graduated from Oxford Junction High school in 1923. He helped his parents on the family farm.

On June 2, 1934 he married Lelia Airy at Oxford Junction. Fred began working for the DX Oil Company as a bulk plant agent in 1935 and continued this for 37 years, retiring in 1973.

Fred is survived by his wife Lelia; one daughter, Mrs. Roland (Roxie) Emerson of Rockford, Ill.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ben (Margaret) Benson of Cicero, Ill.; and Helen Crowley of DeWitt; and one brother, Otto of Oxford Junction.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 3 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford Junction, the Rev. Robert Ament officiating. Burial was in Mayflower cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronald Ehlers, Marty Crowley, Kenneth Lasack, Mark Lasack, Vernon Vacek, Sr., and Lynn Lasack.
