John N. Hosch, 68, died at his home in West Cascade, Monday morning at 8:30 after a long illness.

Funeral was held from the Devaney funeral home to St. Martin's church Wednesday morning where the Rev. Francis Bradshaw of Waukon offered the requiem high mass. The Rev. F. J. Dunn, assistant pastor of St. Martin's delivered the sermon. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, Rev. Dunn and Rev. Bradshaw officiating.

Pallbearers were Chris Reiter, Henry Beck, Elmer Dunker, Patrick Callahan, Albert Pfiffer, Nicholas Rollinger, Joseph Brady and William Stanton.

Mr. Hosch was born Jan.7, 1885 in Cascade, son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Sauser) Hosch. In November, 1908 he married Mary Ellen O'Brien.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Callahan of Cascade, Mrs. Carl (Clara) Weber of Cascade, Mrs. Leo (Helen) Moriarity of Cascade, Mrs. Niles (Florence) Stocks of Dubuque; two sons, Joseph Hosch of Dubuque, and Nicholas Hosch of Bernard. Also surviving are five brothers, Herman Hosch, Fremont, Neb.; Paul Hosch, Bernard; A. A. Hosch, Cascade; Al Hosch, Monticello; Raphael Hosch, of the Merchant Marines, New York, N.Y. and five sisters, Mrs. Henry (Josephine) Schmitt, Monticello; Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Derenthal, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. James (Clara) Magirl, of Stanley; Mrs. Eugene (Laura) Cigrand of Cascade; Mrs. Anthony (Veronica) Courtois, Milwaukee, Wis., also 25 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother and one sister.
