OLIN - Memorial services for Charles Noel Easterly, 72, Cedar Rapids, former Olin resident, were held Monday, Jan. 23, at the Chapel of Memories at Cedar Memorial park, Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Lloyd Dutro, pastor of the Olin EUB church, officiated. Interment was in the Cedar Memorial cemetery.

Mr. Easterly died Jan. 20 at Cedar Rapids following a lingering illness. He was born at Olin May 22, 1894, the son of Don and Ola Stuart Easterly. He grew to manhood in the Olin community, where he attended area schools. He served in the armed forces during World War I.

On Sept. 1, 1902, he married Thelma Miller at Olin. They lived in Olin for several years where he operated a dairy. In 1942 they moved to Cedar Rapids, where he was an independent insurance representative and salesman, until his retirement a year ago.

He was a member of the American Legion at Olin and the Last Men's club of cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. John (Shirley) Von Behren of Anamosa, and Mrs. Vern (Patricia) Holets of Cedar Rapids; ten grandchildren; four sisters, Nellie Easterly of Davenport, Mrs. Lois Hart of Olin, Mrs. Bernard Rose of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Ira N. Kearns of Davenport, and one brother, Rosco of Sabula.

Pallbearers were Arno Lawson, Ernest Peck, Lester Fall, Malvern Starry, Cecil Fall and Ralph Coppess. Honorary pallbearers were Howard Cruise, Bliss Switzer, Leon Stivers and Melvin Ramsey, all of Olin.
