Prayer services were conducted yesterday morning at the Goettsch Funeral home for Harold William McVay, who died in Dallas, Texas, last Saturday. Burial was in Sacred Heart cemetery.

Harold William McVay, son of Delbert E. McVay and Wilhelmina K. Peters was born Jan.7, 1912 at Brownsdale, Minn.

He moved with his parents to Monticello, Iowa, at the age of two. He attended the Monticello public school and graduated with the class of 1932.

He worked for the late Charles Doxsee in printing the Express, and also was employed by Stewart Stuhler.

He entered the armed services in April of 1942.

On June 30, 1945 he was united in marriage to Agnes A. Dandl of Cascade, Iowa. He was discharged from service in the fall of 1945. In the fall of 1946, he and his wife entered the Illinois College of Chiropody and Foot Surgery. Both received their doctor's degrees in the spring of 1950, and set up their offices in Dallas, Texas, when his untimely death overtook him Jan. 27, 1951.

Services were held at the Holy Trinity church in Dallas, by the Msgr. Stanton. He was returned to Monticello for interment at the Sacred Heart cemetery on Jan. 31, 1951.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Agnes A. McVay; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. E. McVay, Monticello; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Christiansen, Anamosa, and Mrs. Marion Barnd, Minneapolis, and one brother, Luverne, of Anamosa, and relatives and many friends.
