Minta Ripperton, 69, passed away Saturday, November 22, 1980 at the John McDonald Hospital in Monticello, Ia.

Minta was born on November 19, 1911 at Monmouth, Iowa, the daughter of Isaac and Florence Pratt Edwards.

After graduation from Monmouth High School in 1903, Minta was married to Squire Ripperton on October 22, 1930 at Maquoketa, Iowa. Three children were born to this union. Mr. Ripperton died in 1940.

On August 30, 1941, Minta married Carl "Tim" Ripperton at Anamosa. Three children were born to this union. Tim died in 1968.

Minta spent her married life in Onslow where she helped her first husband operated a cream station and feed store, and her second husband with the feed store and later farming, and then in the grocery business. Following the death of Tim, Minta continued to operate the grocery business in Onslow for several years until she retired. She was a member of the Onslow Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Ripperton is survived by six children, Forrest of Lakewood, Colorado; Lonnie of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. William (Sharon) Howie of Monticello; John of Oelwein; Mrs. Dan (Joyce) Schultze of Watkins; and Charles of Jackson, Mississippi. Twelve grandchildren and two brothers, Ralph Edwards, Baldwin, and Alva Edwards, Elkader, also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and one brother. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, at the Onslow Presbyterian Church. Dan Johnson, Student Pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Wyoming Cemetery. Pallbearers were LaVern Taylor, Daryl Wherrry, John Snyder, Tom Gutzeit, Loyd Westphal and Marvin Null, Sr.
