Mrs. Bertha Ritze, 80, of Moline, and sister of John Carstensen, Oxford Junction, died March 13 at Moline Lutheran Hospital. Services were March 16 at the Knox-larson Funeral Home, Rock Island, with the Rev. Eldor Haake, pastor of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, officiating. Burial was in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.

The former Bertha Carstensen was born Sept. 11, 1901, in Oxford Junction, daughter of Thomas and Margaretha Ahrendsen Carstensen. She married Clarence Ritze Dec 24, 1925, in Davenport. The couple lived in Rock Island until 1975, when they moved to Moline.

She received her education in the Oxford Junction schools.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Albert of Moline; two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Holland of Channelview, Texas and Mrs. Rita Miller of Rock Island; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Frieda Smith of Rib Lake, Wisc.; two brothers, John Carstensen of Oxford Junction and Albert Carstensen of Lisbon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.

Chuck Carstensen, Oxford Junction and Fred Pegorick of Wyoming were pallbearers.
