Hilda L. Podhaski, 82, died January 16, 1984 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was born in Wyoming, Iowa on August 10, 1901, the daughter of Ernest and "Daisy" Lansing Gardner.

She attended school at Wyoming. Later, as a young woman, she moved to Monticello and on May 26, 1921, she married Charles Podhaski, also of Monticello.

The couple lived in Monticello until 1964 and then they moved to California. Charles died in 1966 and Hilda moved back to Iowa and lived in Marion, Mechanicsville and these last nine years, in Wyoming.

She was a member of the Wyoming Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge, the Wyoming Legion Auxiliary and the Methodist Church Women.

She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Howard (Wanda) Weidman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; Mrs. James (Betty Lou) Holdeman of Littleton, Colorado; Mrs. Lester (Audrey) Schatz of Manassas, Virginia; Mrs. Philip (Patricia) Petersen of Marion, Iowa; Mrs. Judith Gerks of Cambridge, Illinois; one son, Jeffrey of Wyoming, Iowa ; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Alta Mastin of Perry, Iowa and Mrs. Mae Wilkin of Long Beach, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and two sisters.

Services for Hilda Podhaski were held Thursday morning January 19, 1984 at 11:00 a.m. in the Methodist Church, Wyoming, Iowa with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, Iowa. Rev. Mike Reeves officiated. Mrs. Mike House was the vocalist and Mrs. Richard Pace was organist. Pallbearers were Brian Podhaski, Brent Podhaski, Steven Weidman, Christopher Widman, John Gerks and Bob Malley.
