OLIN - Funeral services for Joseph Brink Pieper, 79, were held May 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the Olin Methodist church, with the Rev. Robert G. Jones officiating. Interment was in the Olin cemetery.

Mr. Pieper died May 12 at Anamosa Community hospital. He was born May 20, 1887, in Kansas, the son of William H. and Mima Pieper. He farmed until retiring in 1943. He was married to Oltia Mae Williams Feb. 7, 1912.

He was a member of the Methodist board of trustees for many years. He was a township trustee and also served as mayor. At the time of his death, he was president of the Olin Telephone company.

Survivors include his wife, and a brother, Ray Pieper of Cedar Rapids.

Pallbearers were Gordon Freeman, Harlan Cozart, Herbert Levsen, Raymond Biere, Claire Heffelfinger and Pete Sieveka.
