MONTICELLO - Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, Dec.7, for John Fluckiger, 86, at Sacred Heart Catholic church, with interment in the Sacred Heart cemetery.

Mr. Fluckiger died Monday morning at John McDonald hospital following several years of ill health.

He was born in rural Monticello, Dec. 11, 1880, the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Lynch Fluckiger. He married Laura Anderson at the Sacred Heart church and she died in 1951.

Survivors include two sons, Leonard and Ray, both of Monticello, and four daughters, Mrs. William (Theresa) Walderbach of Anamosa, Mrs. Harley (Mary) Bulgren of Center Jct., Mrs. John (Lucille) Sievers of Anamosa, and Mrs. Maynard (Rosalyn) Glick of Cedar Rapids, and 14 grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, John and Paul.

Pallbearers were Frank Eilers, S. E. Locher, A. N. Strittmatter, Robert Devaney, Marvin Schneider and Don Schlimmer.
