AMBER - Services for Mrs. Henry D. Freese, 81, were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Wayne Zion Lutheran church, with the Rev. Luther Wachholz conducting the services. Interment was in the Wayne Zion cemetery.

Mrs. Freese died at John McDonald hospital, Monticello, Friday morning, Dec. 9, after an illness of several months.

Grace Maria Burrach was born Aug. 11, 1885, the daughter of Dietrich and G. Marion Hayen Burrach near Monticello. She received her education in the Jones county schools.

On June 2, 1915, she married Henry D. Freese. The couple farmed in Wayne township, Jones county, until 1956, when they moved to their present Amber home.

She was a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran church.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Edwin of Scotch Grove, Theodore of Anamosa, and George of Amber; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Mary) Zumbach of Manchester, and eight grandchildren.

Also one sister, Mrs. Mary Casper of Monticello, a half-sister, Cecilia Rieniets, and two half-brothers, Henry and Frederick Rieniets, both of Monticello.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.

Pallbearers were Wallace Cruise, Warren Rieniets, George Bohlken, Donald Skelley, Gilbert Hearn and Marvin Oltmann.
