OLIN - Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Urban, 78, were held Oct. 31 at the EUB church with the Rev. Lloyd Dutro officiating. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Catherine Ahrendsen Urban was born Oct. 8, 1888 in Germany, the daughter of John A. and Dorothea Ahrendsen. She died Oct. 27 at Anamosa Community hospital following a lengthy illness.

She came to the United States with her parents at the age of 6 years. She was married May 8, 1908 to Joe Matejka, who died April 20, 1941. They were the parents of four children.

On Jan. 14, 1942, she was married to John Urban. He died Dec. 6, 1955.

She was a member of the EUB church, Rebekah lodge and Pythian Sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Christine) Schneep of Olin, Mrs. Dale (Velma) Hefflefinger and Mrs. Lester (Ella) Cozart of Readlyn; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a brother in Germany.

A son, Ernest Matejka, and a grandson preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Charles Holland, Robert Timmons, Willard McCormick, William Reese, Cecil Fall and John England.
