OLIN - Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Stivers, 83, were held Friday afternoon, March 31, at Hayden Funeral home with the Rev. M. Lloyd Dutro officiating. Burial was in Olin cemetery.

Mrs. Stivers died March 28 at Anamosa Community hospital following a lingering illness. She was born July 5, 1883 near Olin, the daughter of John and Mary Jane Jewett Eye.

She spent her entire life in Jones county, most of it in Olin. She was married to Edward Fairley in 1903. They were the parents of six children. In 1926 she married Dan Stivers. He died Jan. 5, 1950.

Survivors include four sons, Clare Fairley of Savanna, Ill. and Lewis, Raymond and Harold Fairley of Olin; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Burt, Olin, and Mrs. Ray DeWald, Anamosa. Two daughters preceded her in death.
