OXFORD JCT. - Funeral services for Joseph Topinka, 85, who died Feb. 9 at Jackson county hospital, Maquoketa, were held Sunday at Hayden funeral home. The Rev. Ramon Booth officiated and burial was in Mayflower cemetery.

He was born Dec. 19, 1881, in Czechoslovakia, coming to the United States in 1907. He married Louise Polak in St. Louis Aug. 5, 1916. He was a farmer and a railroad employee until his retirement.

Survivors include one son, Joseph J. of Clutier; three daughters, Mrs. Perry (Georgia) Fritcher of Oxford Jct., Mrs. Forest (Elsie) Kleinsmith of Lost Nation and Mrs. Clarence (Emeline) Barber of Welton; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one son, Stanley.
