MONTICELLO - Funeral services for Mrs. Lawrence (Clara) Heeren, 55, rural Monticello, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran church, with the Rev. C. C. Gutekunst officiating. Burial was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery.

Mrs. Heeren died Friday at John McDonald hospital after an illness of several months. Clara Sophia Willms was born Dec. 8, 1910 at Monticello, the daughter of Carl and Etta Luerkens Willms. She attended the Jones county rural schools. She married Lawrence Heeren Feb. 18, 1936, at Wayne Zion Lutheran church. They farmed near Monticello.

Mrs. Heeren is survived by her husband; two sons, Dale of Dubuque and Richard of Monticello; one daughter, Edith of Monticello; three grandchildren, one brother and five sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, two sisters and two brothers.

Pallbearers were James Stadtmueller, Roy Null, Vernon Null, Donald Rickels, Donald Clark and George Iaggi.
