Fredrick W. Von Sprecken, 81, Oxford Junction, died Thursday, Aug. 12 in Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa. Services were Aug. 15 at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Oxford Junction, with Rev. Douglas Holmgren officiating. Burial was in the Wyoming Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 18, 1900, near Wyoming to Gustav and Lena Luckstead Von Sprecken, Nov. 23, 1921, he married Ella Petersen in Wyoming.

Fredrick W. Von Sprecken, 81, of Oxford Junction died Thursday in Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

Funeral services were held Monday August 15 11 a.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Oxford Junction, Rev. Douglas Holmgren officiating with burial in the Wyoming Cemetery. Hayden Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.

He was born November 16, 1900 near Wyoming, Iowa to Gustav and Lena Luckstead Von Sprecken. On November 23, 1921, he married Ella Petersen in Wyoming. Both rural and the Wyoming Public Schools were attended by Mr. Von Sprecken. Prior to his retirement in 1964 he farmed in Jones County and afterwards moved to Oxford Junction. For more than 25 years he was a seed corn dealer and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ella; two sons, Glen of Maquoketa, Ernest of Oxford Junction, Claude of Anamosa and George of Wyoming; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother, a son and a great grandchild.
