Funeral services for Mrs. Ernest (Glenys) VonSprecken, 71, of Oxford Junction were held Saturday, May 9 at 1:30 at the United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Hamann officiated at the services. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery. The Hayden Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were David VonSprecken, Richard Ahrendsen, Mark Ingwersen, Ronald Davis, Gene Denniston, and George West.

Mrs. Richard Woelfle was organist and Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen and Mrs. Otto Koranda were vocalists.

Mrs. VonSprecken died Tuesday, May 5 at the Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

She was born March 5, 1910 in Oxford Junction to Andrew and Anna Vozenilek Denniston. On March 7, 1928 she was married to Ernest VonSprecken in Anamosa. They first farmed near Wyoming and in 1943 moved to the Oxford Junction area to farm. They retired in 1976 and moved to Oxford Junction. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women and held many offices in the organization.

Survivors are her husband, three sons, Keith of Phoenix, AZ, Dennis and Bruce of Oxford Junction; one daughter, Kathleen Davis, Maquoketa; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and one sister, Mrs. Lucille Bagley, LeClaire.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, one sister, two half-brothers and one half-sister.
