WYOMING - Funeral services for Candace Felker Scripture were held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Hayden Funeral home in Wyoming, with the Rev. Morgan Schomer of Rock Island officiating.

Mrs. Scripture died July 27 at Maquoketa Community hospital. She had been in ill health for the last six years and had been a patient in the hospital for six weeks. Burial was in South Mineral cemetery.

Candace Felker Scripture, oldest child of John Henry and Mary Sherman Felker, was born March 23, 1880, in Jackson county.

While she was still in her teens, the family moved to Wyoming, where, on July 3, 1898, she was married to Otis Scripture of Steam Mill Corners.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Scripture was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, two sisters and one brother.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Eava De Vore of Monmouth and Mrs. June Edwards of Wyoming; two sons, Stanley of Maquoketa and Harold of Wyoming; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
