MONTICELLO - Funeral services were held Saturday morning for John W. Murray, 71, of Monticello, at Devaney funeral home. Interment was in Sacred Heart cemetery.

Mr. Murray died Wednesday evening, Nov. 16, at John McDonald hospital. He was born on Jan. 9, 1895, the son of John and Mary McDonough Murray.

He is survived by one brother, Tom Murray of Hopkinton, and four sisters: Mrs. J. P. (Genevieve) Mausser of Central City, Mrs. Louis (Florence) Smith of Worthington, Mrs. Perry (Regina) DeShaw of Manchester, and Mrs. Fred (Marie) Welter of Dubuque.

Pallbearers were Harry Starks, Joe Supple, Ray Adams, Lee Wilson, Larry Martinsen and Herman Welter.
