MONTICELLO - Mrs. Mabel Lund Behrends, 66, Champaign, Ill, died Jan. 7 at Burnham city hospital there from hypostatic pneumonia. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Wayne Zion Lutheran church with the Rev. Luther Wachholz officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Born May 11, 1899 at Monticello, she was a daughter of August and Anna Rosena Schoon Lund. She attended the rural schools of Jones county and was married to Ben H. Behrends on June 8, 1921, at Wayne Zion church. They farmed near Monticello until her husband's death in May 1924. She made her home near Monticello until 10 years ago when she moved to Champaign to live with a nephew, Vernon Stahlberg.

Survivors include her nephew with whom she made her home and other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers included Harvey Hinrichs, Milo Tobiason, Norman Hinrichs, Herbert Herren, Raymond Peters and Jon Husman.
