MONTICELLO - Lloyd W. Pickett, 58, died at John McDonald hospital Sunday, Jan. 30, after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from Goettsch Funeral home with the Rev. Benj. Wild officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Born May 6, 1907 at Baldwin, he was the son of Jesse Eugene and Lotta Heath Picket. He attended the rural schools of Jones county. On June 5, 1928 he was married to Lanie Webster Greene and they made their home in Monticello. Mrs. Pickett died Sept. 9, 1962 and he married Gertrude Eilers Clark, May 19, 1964.

He was employed by Franklin Equipment for many years and for the past 14 years he had been employed with the City of Monticello on the street department. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, and the Knights of Pythias lodge.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Henry (Irma Jean) Caspers of Anamosa, Mrs. Wayne (Marie) Steensen of Peekskill, N.Y., Mrs. Ronald (Janis) Pierce of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Mrs. Alvin (Dorothy) Zobel of Cedar Rapids; two step-daughters, Mrs. Alva (Alice Greene) Hahn, Manchester, and Mrs. Charles (Lois Clark) Dunlap, Anamosa; one step-son, Robert Greene of Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, Roy of Dubuque, James of Monticello and John of Akron, Ohio.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one half-brother, Cecil Meyers, of Wyoming. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
