MONTICELLO - Clarence (Buck) Eilers, 56, died at the University hospitals in Iowa City Dec. 8 as a result of injuries he received Nov. 20 when his clothing became clogged in a cornpicker on his farm south of Monticello.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 11, at Sacred Heart Catholic church with burial made at Sacred Heart cemetery. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. E. P. Lorenz officiated.

Mr. Eilers was born Oct. 29, 1909 near Monticello, the son of Alva Eilers and the late Mrs. Eilers. He was married to Clara Flack of Monticello in May 1939. They lived about a year in Davenport before moving to their present farm near Monticello, where he was engaged in dairy farming. He was a member of Sacred Heart church and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his father, Alva; his wife Clara; five sons, Robert of Prairie City, Ill., Loren with the U.S. Army at Tacoma, Wash. and Donald, Steven and Melvin at home; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Sharon) Rahm of Charleston, S.C. and Mrs. William (Jean) Nelson of Monticello; five grandchildren; three brothers, Harry, LaVern and Arthur of Monticello and four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Heath and Mrs. Lloyd Pickett of Monticello, Mrs. Dale Wink of Anamosa and Mrs. Bernard Lurch of Rock Island, Ill.

Pallbearers included James Wink, Ronald Wink, Charles Wink, William Eilers, David Eilers, Charles Dunlap, Kenneth Tuetken and Jerry Heeren.
