OLIN - E. Roy Easterly, 94, of Olin, died Sept. 1 at Mercy hospital, Anamosa. Memorial services were held at the Olin E.U.B. church Sept. 4, with Rev. Lloyd Dutro officiating. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers were Maurice Bonjour, Leo Bonjour, Richard Luckstead, William Kell, Lawrence Dean and Walter Rohwedder.

Mr. Easterly was born to Thomas W. and Martha J. Rummel Easterly near Olin, March 5, 1871. He attended rural schools in the Olin area and spent most of his life in Jones county.

On Dec. 3, 1891, he married Ida A. Copess. They had one daughter, Eva, now Mrs. Michael Swenson of Olin. Mrs. Easterly died in March 1919.

Mr. Easterly had been a member of Ancient Landmark Lodge No. 200, A.F. & A.M. of Olin for over 60 years. For many years he served as secretary of the lodge.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by both his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his daughter Eva, four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
