WYOMING - Funeral services for William Merla Redmond, 76, were held Sunday at Hayden Funeral home with the Rev. Nevin N. Williams officiating. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery with the Wyoming American Legion conducting military services.

Mr. Redmond died April 28 at Veteran's hospital in Iowa City following a lingering illness. He was born April 25, 1890 at Mundale, the son of William and Laura Redmond.

Following the death of his first wife and infant son, he married Joyce White in July 1918. Their entire married life was spent in Wyoming. He was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, William of Hopkinton, Charles of Wyoming, Gordon of Viola and Ernest of Monmouth; three daughters, Mrs. Glen Jaeger of Martelle, Mrs. Leona Smith of DeWitt and Mrs. Dale Englebart of Amber.

Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Onie Hedgen of Des Moines, Mrs. Minnie Yohima of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. Ina Bento of San Jose, Calif.

Pallbearers were W. E. McCalmant, Charles McCalmant, Frank Peogrock, Howard Becker, Mark Cross and Harris Phelps.
