MONTICELLO - Mrs. John (Minnie Elisa) Rickels died Dec. 30 at John McDonald hospital following an illness of 12 weeks. Funeral services were held Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran church wit the Rev. Anton Kirkegaard officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Mrs. Rickels was born July 30, 1889 near Monticello, the daughter of Dietrick and Anna Helgens Collmann. She attended schools in Tripp, S.D. She was married to John H. Rickels April 10, 1913 at Wayne Zion Lutheran church. They farmed near Monticello until 1942 when they moved to their present home in Monticello.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran church, Pythian Sisters and American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by a daughter Ruth, her parents, three half brothers and two half sisters.

Survivors include her husband; one son Donald W.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and one sister Mrs. Dick (Anna) Bohlken of Monticello.

Pallbearers were Galen Hayen, Louis Hayen, Leo Bohlken, Leo Ambuehl, H. W. G. Folkers and Melvin Tobiason.
