MONTICELLO - Mrs. R. C. Hoag, 75, died Sunday morning at the John McDonald hospital following a long illness. She was the widow of the late R. C. Hoag, former mayor of Monticello.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from St. Luke's Methodist church with the Rev. Howard J. Eldrenkamp officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Jessie Hayes Hoag was born in Wayne township near Monticello, Nov. 12, 1890, the daughter of Adelbert and Arvilla Morrison Hayes. She received her education in the Jones county schools. On Sept. 14, 1910, she was married to Ray C. Hoag. They made their home in Monticello, where he was associated with the Hoag Duster factory. He died Oct. 21, 1953.

She was a member of St. Luke's Methodist church in Monticello and a charter member of the Pythian Sisters.

Survivors include two sons, L. R. (Steve) Hoag, and Stuart H. Hoag and Mrs. Thomas (Shirley) Eden, all of Monticello; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Leigh Clark, Roy Miller, Carl Schneider, T. E. Hamilton, Ernest Landis and Earl Griffith.
