ANAMOSA - Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Warner (Anna Elizabeth) Heiken, at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Anamosa. The Rev. LaVerne C. Beener officiated. Burial was at Wayne Zion Lutheran cemetery, rural Monticello.

Mrs. Heiken died Saturday afternoon, May 1, at the Steeker Nursing home following a heart attack. She was born Aug. 30, 1878 in Wayne township, the daughter of August and Margaret Zimmerman Toenjes. She was raised in that community and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.

She was married to Warner Heiken Nov. 25, 1903. They lived one year in Amber after which they moved to a farm in Cass township. In 1940 they moved to Anamosa.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 10, 1944, an infant son Lorenz in 1907, five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lee (Wilma) Sanner of Anamosa and Mrs. Carl (Mildred) Schoon of Monticello; one son, Rex Heiken of Anamosa; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Herman Folkers, Anamosa; Miss Julia Toenjes, Amber; Mrs. Elsie Herren, Anamosa; Mrs. Ed Meister of Denver, Colo, and Mrs. George Siebels, Amber

Pallbearers included Albert Johnson, Leslie Toenjes, Carl Folkers, Donald Hagen, John Siebels and Duane Herren.
