MONTICELLO - Guy Byerly, 76, died Sunday, Sept. 12 at Wheatland, Mo., where he and Mrs. Byerly were visiting Mrs. Byerly's mother.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from Goettsch Funeral home. The Rev. Glenn N. Bender officiated with burial at Antioch cemetery, Anamosa.

Born June 24, 1889, at Anamosa, Mr. Byerly was the son of William Michael and Eliza Waggoner Byerly. He was married to Nina Rose, Jan. 1, 1914 and the couple farmed near Anamosa before moving to Anamosa. They were the parents of two daughters. Mrs. Byerly died in November 1944.

He was married Oct. 1, 1949 to Zula B. Elton of Ballantine, Montana. They lived in Anamosa, later moving to Monticello where he worked as a stock buyer. He was a member of the Congregational church, Monticello, the Knights of Pythias, Monticello and the D.O.K.K.

Survivors include his wife Zula; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy) Davison, Sunnyside, Wash., and Mrs. Fred (Alta) Bonk, Des Moines; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren, and five sisters, Mrs. Floy Trourtelott of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Roy Russell of Anamosa, Mrs. Grace Johnson of Algona, Mrs. Chester Miller of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. George Mills of St. Petersburg, Fla.

Pallbearers included John H. Smith, Ernest Landis, Casey Flitsch, Alvin Vleadorn, William Reese and Fred Butschi.
