MONTICELLO - Mrs. Casper Arduser, 85, died at the Johnson Nursing home Dec. 18 after a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Evangelical and Reformed church wit the Rev. John Siegle officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Emma Strahle Arduser was born June 17, 1878 in Bern, Switzerland, the daughter of William and Anna Broneman Strahle. She came to the United States and settled in Jones county. She married Casper Arduser May 2, 1906. They farmed in the Scotch Grove area and later moved to a farm in Delaware county before coming to Monticello in 1951. They made their home at 737 North Cedar street in Monticello. She was preceded in death by a daughter Clara in 1934.

Survivors include her husband and the following children: Mrs. Galen (Gertrude) Hein, Clifford, Donald, George and Mrs. Paul (MIldred) Gerdes, all of Monticello, and Mrs. Jerome (Velma) Baum of Dyersville.

Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Clara Rathachers of Bern, Switzerland; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
