MONTICELLO - Funeral services were held Friday at Goettsch funeral home for Leon Lloyd Mapel, 26, who was killed in an automobile accident in Monticello Nov. 30. The Rev. Lloyd Dutro of Olin officiated and burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Born near Washington, Ia. Oct. 17, 1939, he was the son of Charles and Garna Foster Mapel. He graduated from Ainsworth high school. On Dec. 16, 1961, he was married to Lynda Steiner of Monticello. They lived in Mechanicsville before moving to their present home in Olin. He was employed as a driver of a bulk milk transport.

He is survived by his parents, Charles Mapel and Mrs. Garna Mapel, both of Ainsworth; his wife Lynda and two daughters, Lori and Lisa of Olin; one sister Mrs. James Richards of Washington, and two brothers, Keith and Allan, both of Ainsworth.
