Funeral services for Peter J. Koster, 86, Monticello, were held from the Devaney funeral home to Sacred Heart church on Tuesday morning at 9:30. Mr. Koster died Saturday evening at the Collier nursing home in Oxford Junction after a long illness.

Rev. Eugene Lorenz officiated at the requiem mass, delivered the sermon, and officiated at burial service in Sacred Heart cemetery.

Pallbearers were George Gadient, Lorenz Allamand, Rudolph Flack, Charles J. Schweitzer, Carl Oswald and Mike Ferring.

Mr. Koster, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Koster, was born on April 7, 1867, in Kansas. In his young life he farmed near Monticello and later followed the carpenter's trade.

He married Margret Burke McDermott in St. Martin's church at Cascade. His wife died in 1937.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Lorraine, in 1907; and by two brothers. Only survivors are a number of nieces and nephews.
