WYOMING - Funeral services for Cecil W. James, 70, who died Sept. 19 at Davenport, were held Sept. 22 at the Methodist church. The Rev. Nevin Williams officiated. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Mr. James was born Dec. 12, 1895 on a farm west of Center Jct., the son of Smith and Margaret Crew James. He graduated from Wyoming high school and attended the University of Wisconsin. He served in the infantry during World War I.,

He was married to Lucy Pillard of Anamosa in 1925. They were the parents of 10 children, two dying in infancy and one at the age of 17. Mrs. James died in 1951.

Mr. James had lived in Wyoming since retiring from farming in 1960.

Surviving are two sons, David, serving with the Air Force in Greece, and Dean of Wyoming; five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Siebels of Overland Park, Kan., Mrs. Cecile Kellar of Blackburg, Va., Mrs. Onalee Crocker of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Kathy Zimmerman of Olin and Mrs. Susan Nichol of Cedar Falls, and 11 grandchildren.

Also surviving are four brothers, Ed of Long Beach, Calif., Wes of Deadwood, S.D., Hugh of Sacramento, Calif. and Paul of Los Angeles, Calif., and one sister, Mary of TIfton, Ga.
