MONTICELLO - Funeral services for E. C. Nagel, 70, were held Monday afternoon from Goettsch Funeral home. The Rev. Anton Kirkegaard officiated and burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Mr. Nagel died Thursday morning, Jan. 13, at the farm home of his son, Ray, from a sudden heart attack.

Eahart Charles Nagel was born June 4, 1895 at Earlville, the son of Frederick and Wilhelmina Salou Nagel. He was married to Esther Ely at Monticello Sept. 29, 1917. They farmed near Monticello until six years ago when they moved to their present home in Monticello.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, John of Prairieburg and Lavern and Ray of Monticello; one daughter, Mrs. Everett (Olive) Herndon of Monticello, 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included John Nagel, Jerry Nagel, Joe Nagel, James Nagel, Leonard Bader and Marlow Rayburn.
