MONTICELLO - Mrs. Fred J. (Grace Gertrude) Messerli, died Sunday morning, Aug. 15, following a heart attack. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Congregational church. The Rev. Glenn Bender officiated. Burial was at Oakwood cemetery.

Mrs. Messwerli was born Feb. 27, 1902, at Ironwood, Wis., the daughter of Peter and Emma Faust Hasler. She attended school in Iowa and Mississippi and was married to Fred J. Messerli of Monticello Sept. 29, 1930 at Cedar Rapids. They lived their married life in the Monticello community. She was a member of the Congregational church.

Survivors include her husband; one son Frederick of Clinton; two grandchildren; three brothers, Hans Hasler, Cedar Rapids, and Robert and Peter Hasler of Monticello; three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Esther) Messerli, Monticello, Mrs. Donald (Loree) Howard of Anamosa and Mrs. Loraine Anderson of Fairview, Utah.

Pallbearers included Daniel Hasler, Robert Hasler, Dwight Howard, LaVerne Zumbach, Karl Zumbach and James Sibert.
