MONTICELLO - Funeral services for Mrs. James (Abigail E.) Nelson, 60, were held Saturday morning from St. Luke's Methodist church with the Rev. Howard J. Eldrenkamp officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson died July 14 at John McDonald hospital. She was born May 27, 1905 at Merna, Nebr., the daughter of George F. and Emma Habble Kennedy. She graduated from the Merna high school and later taught in this school for two years.

She was married May 27, 1925 to James W. Nelson at Council Bluffs. They lived in Merna, Neb. until moving to Monticello in February 1940. She and her husband operated the Nelson Jewelry store.

She was a member of St. Luke's Methodist church, the Business and Professional Women's club and the Order of Eastern Star, of which she was a past matron.

Survivors include her husband, James of the home; three children, James G. of Des Moines, Mrs. Kenneth (Marilyn) Paulsen of Omaha, Neb. and William E. of Monticello; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Beulah Wagner of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Harry Widholm of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mrs. Frank Volenec of Omaha, and one brother, Donald Kennedy of Gainsville, Va.
