MECHANICSVILLE - Funeral services for Mrs. Merle O'Conner were held Dec. 15 at the Methodist church in Mechanicsville. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery, Monticello.

Mrs. O'Conner died Dec. 13 at the University hospital in Iowa City. She had been in poor health for the past year.

Helen Loretta Van der Mark was born Oct. 14, 1914 in Monticello and made her home in Monticello until 1930 when she moved to Mechanicsville with her family. She was married to Merle O'Conner of Mt. Vernon. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Leone Young.

Survivors include her husband; her mother, Mrs. Julia Walton, Mechanicsville; one daughter, Mrs. Claude (Beverly) Oler of Lisbon and two grandsons.
