BISMARCK, N.D. - Funeral services for George Ely, 71, former Monticello resident, were held Saturday afternoon at First Presbyterian church with the Rev. George Van Bockern officiating. Burial was made in Fairview cemetery.

Mr. Ely died Nov. 24 at his home after a year's illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1893 in Monticello, the son of Elias and Elizabeth Yousse Ely. He attended Bismarck public schools. He was married to Mae Vivian Salter Nov. 27, 1919.

He was engaged in trucking and landscaping. He was a Burleigh county, N.D. resident 60 years and lived in Bismarck 30 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Erma) Klowcow, Fargo, N.D., and Mrs. Bill (June) Turnbow, Bismarck; four brothers, Albert and Clarence both of Bismarck, Ernest of Huron, S.D. and Louis Pierson of Camas, Wash.; six sisters, Mrs. Richard Metzel, Huron, Mrs. E. C. Nagel, Monticello, Mrs. Mildred Withey, Elburn, Ill., Mrs. Ernest Prybl, Wolsey, S.D., Mrs. Albert Heckenliable, San Francisco, and Mrs. Harold Anson, Wessington, S.D. Eight grandchildren also survive.
