MONTICELLO - Frank (Stretch) O'Rourke, 48, died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday morning at his home after his return from church. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, Sept. 29, from Sacred Heart church, Monticello, with burial at the Sacred Heart cemetery. The Rev. Msgr. Eugene P. Lorenz officiated at the services. Military services were held at the graveside.

He was born Nov. 18, 1915 at Monticello, the son of Joseph and Alice Brady O'Rourke. He graduated from Sacred Heart high school here and was a veteran of WWII. He was a livestock buyer for the Dubuque Packing company.

Surviving are his wife, the former Lonnie Holub; one daughter, Barbara, and one son Mark, both at home. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Alice O'Rourke of Monticello; a brother Arthur of Dubuque; two sisters, Mrs. A. H. (Catherine) Hobert of Monticello and Mrs. Lloyd Wise of Cedar Rapids.

Pallbearers included Frank Eilers, Jim Miller, Donald Schlimmer, Marc Lahey, William Folkers and Nick Clement.
