CENTRAL CITY - John Eiben, 78, died at the Anamosa hospital Sept. 11. Funeral services were held Sept. 14 at the Federated church in Central City with the Rev. W. P. Dykhuizen officiating. Burial was at Oakwood cemetery in Monticello.

Born near Monticello, Nov. 15, 1885, he farmed in the Central City area for many years and lived the last 30 years near Waubeek. His wife, the former Louise Rohen, died in 1951.

Survivors include two sons, Louis of Waubeek and George of Burlington; four daughters, Mrs. George Dirks of Springville; Mrs. Harry Drehouse of Venice, Fla., Mrs. James Baker of Central City and Mrs. Frank Tietz of Walker; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Heiken, Monticello and Mrs. Tillie Martin of Manchester; one brother, Henry Eiben of Scotch Grove.
