Mrs. William T. Allen, 69, Anamosa, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Mercy hospital, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 2, at 11 a.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. Charles Landon conducted the service. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Anamosa.

Pallbearers included Hans Bartels, Lloyd Coleman, Ray Collins, Lowell Lincoln, Earl Pulver and William Wright.

She was born Dora Belle May, Jan. 9, 1896, daughter of Albert May and Dora Dragoo May, near Anamosa. She was married Nov. 25, 1920, to William T. Allen at Anamosa.

She graduated from Anamosa high school, attended Coe college and taught school in Frog Hollow and Langworthy before her marriage.

Couple farmed in Fairview township before moving to Anamosa 27 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church and American Legion auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, William T. Allen, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
