MARTELLE - Funeral service for George W. Beighle, 92, who died June 2 at the home of his son, George Beighle, Lisbon, was held Wednesday, June 4, in the Christian church, Martelle.

Rev. Samuel Noah, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Norwich cemetery.

Mr. Beighle was born in Pennsylvania, July 22, 1854, and came to Wisconsin with his family when a boy. He later came to Iowa where he spent several years in Martelle, before going to Colored, Colorado where he lived 35 years, and then returned to Iowa.

He was married Jan. 22, 1876, to Josephine Sweeney, Lansing, who died in April, 1931. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Martelle.

He is survived by his son, George, and a daughter, Mrs. Charles Kuntz, both Lisbon, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Three children, Joseph, Gladys and Laura, preceded him in death.
