David McDaniel, 89, Anamosa, died Sunday evening Feb. 28, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 3, at 1:30 p.m. at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. Walter D. Wigger will conduct the service. Burial will be in Forest cemetery.

He was born Aug. 18, 1875, at Anamosa. He was married to Etta Main, Feb. 9, 1899, at Anamosa. He was janitor for the Anamosa schools for 26 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Anamosa fire department, joining on March 16, 1910, and an active member of Izaak Walton league.

Survivors include four sons, Ernest, VanNuys, Calif.; Howard and Harold, Anamosa; Eugene, Aiken, S.C.; two grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1943; a son, Clifford, two brothers and three sisters.
