MONTICELLO - Interment services for Mrs. John Maloney were held at the Sacred Heart cemetery, Monticello, Friday, Oct. 24, with Rev. Eugene Lorenz officiating at the graveside.

Mrs. Maloney died at her home in Waterloo Wednesday, Oct. 22, after an illness of short duration. Funeral service was held at the Sacred Heart church, Waterloo, with Msgr. Edward Doughrty, pastor of the church, officiating.

Mrs. Maloney was a daughter of Samuel and Mary Ann Propst. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Katherine Propst. She was born at Monmouth, April 3, 1867, and grew up in the vicinity of her birth. She was married Oct. 10, 1887 to John Maloney at Maquoketa.

Maloney home was made for four years on a farm near Canton. Family later lived at Fort Dodge and at Anamosa, moving to Monticello where Mr. Maloney died Jan. 25, 1924. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Maloney went to Waterloo where she had lived since.

She is survived by a son, Everett J. Maloney, Sterling, Ill.; two granddaughters, Mrs. William Hobert, Monticello, and Mrs. Vincent Kane, DeWitt, and five grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Crawford, Sedgwick, Kan., and Mrs. Emma Garnett, Onslow; also by four brothers, Daniel Propst, Lewiston, Mont., Samuel Propst, Monmouth, and Jake and Roy Propst, Wyoming, Iowa.
